Description
The Cactus to Clouds Trail, also known as the C2C, is a challenging yet rewarding hiking route in Palm Springs, California. This iconic trail offers a unique opportunity to experience diverse landscapes, from the scorching desert floor to the alpine forests atop San Jacinto Peak.
The C2C is a point-to-point hike that begins in downtown Palm Springs and ascends over 10,000 feet to the summit. Hikers will encounter dramatic elevation changes, stunning vistas, and a variety of ecosystems along the way. It's important to note that this is a strenuous hike, requiring proper preparation, physical fitness, and knowledge of backcountry hiking safety.
You have two options on this hike: You either hike it from the valley floor to the summit, and back to the valley floor. Or, you can hike it from the valley floor to the summit, then down to the tram and ride the tram down to the valley floor. This option will require an Uber ride back to the original trailhead as the tram ends about 10 minutes away from the trailhead.
***Keep in mind the 21.5 mile length is the distance from the valley floor, to the summit, and to the tram. If you hike all the way back down instead of taking the tram, you will be hiking approximately 36 miles.
